Firstly, let me hereby apologise for our harsh tone in the previous post.
However, please give us some time to collate our ideas and come up with a NEW survey asap.

Recently we have all been very stressed about the entire thing, thus the anger in our tones. i represent my entire committee to apologise to you seniors, and i will deeply appreciate if you guys will drop this matter for the time being until future actions are being made (which i assure you will no be longer than after MYEs.).

Also, i hope that you guys will not continue to personally insult or make harsh/rude comments on any of our committee members. Sarcasm is not appreciated, sorry if its mean but seriously.

"The survey was not successful."
Yes, for this i personally agree. However, have you guys ever thought of who's actually doing the surveys? no, its not us, its your batch. so, in order to facilitate and better improve our survey results the next time, maybe you guys can ask your class to coorperate or something. i mean, at least take it seriously (and not as some joke).

Oh and just fyi, the hall venue thing was just one idea yet to be confirmed.

Rest assured that we will look into the comments given by you guys and improve our proposal.

All the best for MYEs!

With deepest apologises,
Overall-in-charge
Graduation Night Committee

Warning: ESSAY IS EXTREMELY UNHELPFUL AND DELIBERATELY STRAIGHTFORWARD. READ AT THE RISK OF EMOTIONAL OUTBREAK.

It's not easy being in this committee and I think I'm the only one constantly dealing with you sec 4s through this blog since I'm the head of publicity and your other publicity head is enamoured and enraptured purely with badminton. Ok that was an exaggeration but you get the idea, I'm basically the sole person manning this place.

And so I kindly request that you read the rest of this entry before you guys jump into any conclusions.

First of all, I would like to explain what has recently been happening. A short while back, the school hall was confirmed to be the venue of your very own grad night/prom.

To digress a little first, actually this wasn't even meant to be a prom. A prom truly consists of a dance and we did add in the choice of dance into the survey form but more than 90% voted against it so it does not qualify for prom anyways. So let's just stick to the word choice of grad night (GN).

Now tradition has it that the GN would be organized annually at a hotel ballroom. Where everyone would go in their pretty dresses, shoes, clothes, accessories, hairstyles etc. As it would officially be the last event where you can mingle with people from your batch before you guys head into separate lives.

Therefore, for many of you, GN is practically like the most important event of your life, apart from showing off your alter ego.

I need you to hear me out. As with our school hall idea which sounds pretty stupid, my next reason is probably going to sound stupid too: Recession. Now it may not affect you as you may be pretty well-to-do and stuff and were one of the people who didn't mind a $90 ticket.

But there may be people out there who need help. I personally actually know a few people saying they can't head for an expensive GN. If you wish to be selfish, go ahead, but for all you know, someone from your clique might be secretly unable to afford even $70.

You know, to be honest, we weren't heavily affected by the last recession (1997) so we don't really feel the consequences of this ongoing recession, but the depressing economy has made many of our parents tighter in the bank account. From now till November, who knows what may happen?

Example scenario: You wish to go to GN and the ticket costs $80. Your parents refuse to fund you because they think it would be a waste of money.

HOW?

Let's continue. )

YAY!

Firstly, on behalf of GNC 2009, I would like to thank everyone in advanced who has ordered stuff from us and are giving us your support! We really do appreciate your gesture mmkay.

Secondly, we have some good news for you. If you've been really forgetful these two days and consistently forgot to bring your money, fret not: For this year, we will still be collecting orders from now till 12 February! That is next Thursday! Which is really awesome because we'll be delivering all the orders on 13 February, Friday!

Not only that - if you decided suddenly that a few people have been nice to you and you wish to buy them a rose or two as a small token, well guess what? We'll be open and selling fresh roses as well as handmade ones over the counter on Friday itself!

I know you luv us thank you thank you.

Okay I'm actually being really long-winded by constantly drilling into you that we will still be peddling roses on that day but I really don't want you guys to start freaking out just because you forgot to buy this or that the previous day.

THERE'S ALWAYS US!

Have you guys sent all your orders to your class chairmen already? Please remember to pass your payment along with your orders, latest by 3pm, 5th February, Thursday.

If you cannot confirm your orders by then, please go to the ice-cream booth at the canteen or 309 (look for Shuning) to place your orders.

Oh yes! We will only be selling fresh roses and handmade roses on Valentine's Day itself! The booth will be just beside the ice-cream booth, you will see a few councillors there.

Lastly, in case you want to buy manymany roses, ONLY CASH IS ACCEPTED! No cashcards, credit cards, cheque, no nothing else, only CASH! :D

If you have anymore enquiries, feel free to go 309 to ask for help, thanks!

Hurry place your orders now, you won't want your loved ones to be empty-handed on Valentines' Day!

We just briefed the class chairmen this morning on how everything works, so if need be, find out the details from your respective class chairmen. A few things to note:

1/ If you purchase 3 fresh/handmade roses and above, we will be providing free bouquet wrapping services, so if you want them to remain individual, please specify in the class list. Ensure that your class chairman is aware so that he/she can collate the quantities correctly.

2/ Payment must be made by Thursday to your class chairmen. Take note that this morning, I'd actually announced that to pass the orders and money to us, the class chairmen can find us at the booth near the ice cream stall. However, I'd failed to mention that us sec 3s won't be there all the time, so if possible, find us at our classes, preferably 309 (look for Shuning), which is on the 5th floor.

3/ This year, we have also come up with a new channel and that is our booth at the ice cream stall. For Valentine's Day, we are accepting personal orders. That is, instead of ordering through your class chairman, you can directly come to our booth and order. It allows for privacy and we think that it is conducive, for whatever personal reasons there may be.

Omg I'm getting naggy.

Anyway, moving on, remember the list for the meanings of different numbers of roses? If you're afraid you've forgotten what 15 roses mean, don't worry, because I'm adding the list below for your benefit. :D

Click here to see the entire list! )

I'm warning you, don't steal my beloved list. (L)

SALES OF ICE CREAM

Ice cream of a variety of flavours will be sold everyday (except during exam period) after school, from 3.00pm to 6.30pm , with effect from this week. They will be sold at a dollar each (except for the hazelnut bar which is priced at $1.50).

Please do come and support us at the ice cream cart located just in front of the former basketball court (now the construction site). Your help is greatly appreciated and will go a long way in helping our fund raising for the secondary 4s.

Thank You! :DDD
